Ranking the 25 worst games of past Heisman trophy winners: 8. Reggie Bush

  • 2005 Season stats: 1,740 rushing yards, 16 touchdowns
  • Worst game: 51 rushing yards, 1 touchdown

We know what the record books technically say, but we also know what we saw as well.

Running back Reggie Bush was forced to hand in his hard-earned Heisman Trophy due to a number of allegations. While college football wants us to completely forget about his 2005 season, we simply can’t.

USC finished the year with a 12-1 record. Not only was Bush the main reason why they were practically unstoppable but he was also the guy that fans paid their money to see. With over 1,700 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, Bush was a human highlight reel no matter where he played. Well, except when he played against Washington.

Somehow, the lowly Washington Huskies, who only won two games that season, made the life of Bush absolutely hell during their matchup. USC may have won by 27 points but Bush had a hard time getting anything going. He finished the game with just 51 rushing yards and one touchdown. Considering that Bush had numerous games in which he cracked over 200 yards on the ground, this was by far his worst game of the season.
