Ranking the 25 worst games of past Heisman trophy winners: 22. Ricky Williams

  • 1998 College stats: 2,124 rushing yards, 27 rushing touchdowns
  • Worst game: 43 rushing yards, 6 receiving yards

Ricky Williams was so ridiculously dominant in college, that he was a part of arguably the biggest trade in NFL history.

There’s a reason why he was considered one of the great running backs of all time. During his time at the University of Texas, he either ran over or by defenders. In 1998, he dragged everyone into the end zone as he scored 27 times. He was also good for 2,124 rushing yards for a 9-3 squad.

Ironically enough, Williams turned into a monumental bust in the NFL and his dud of a game against Kansas State should’ve been an indicator to everyone else on just how bad he was ultimately going to become.

Kansas State blew the doors off Texas by 41 points and Williams went for 43 yards on 25 carries. Everything was off for Williams. He even struggled catching balls out of the backfield, making just one grab for a measly six yards. That game proved to be nothing more than a fluke but Williams, all in all, at least at the next level, was a horrible football player.
