1. Oklahoma State’s defense has been on an absolute tear

As mentioned earlier in this piece, Oklahoma State’s defense has been playing crazy well this season, especially in the last few games.

Since losing to Iowa State Oct. 23, the Cowboys have allowed their opponents to score just 56 total points. More than half of them came in the season finale against Oklahoma (33 points).

Oklahoma State will face one of the most prolific runners in all of college football once again in Baylor’s Abram Smith, who has logged the seventh-most total rushing yards in the country (1,366 yards).

Earlier in the season, Smith had just 10 carries but racked up 97 yards against the Cowboys. With Smith proving to be an excellent rusher this season, expect Baylor to find ways to get the senior more than 10 carries in this game.

Defending the run has been a strong point for the Cowboys this season, allowing fewer than 100 rushing yards per game. Expect Oklahoma State to not allow Smith any big runs or big gains on the ground in this game, neutralizing one of Baylor’s best offensive weapons.

Oklahoma State and Baylor will square off for the Big 12 title on Dec. 4 at 12 p.m. ET on ABC.
