No 2. Cheez-It Bowl (Clemson vs Iowa State)

The Clemson Tigers, with their renewed focus and momentum, look to take on the Iowa State Cyclones in the Cheez-It Bowl on Dec. 29 at 5:45 PM on ESPN.

Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney and Iowa State Head Coach Matt Campbell have never squared off before, so it’ll be an interesting match-up between two great football minds.

Clemson played Playoff-bound Georgia to a seven-point game early in the season, showing they have what it takes to compete at a high level, despite losing a couple of more games than they are accustomed to in recent years.

Clemson’s stellar defense (allowing just 15.0 points per game) will be tested by one of the most accurate quarterbacks in college football in Iowa State’s Brock Purdy (73.1% completion rate this season).

No 1. Sugar Bowl (Ole Miss vs Baylor)

Perhaps one of the best college football bowl games of the season will feature two teams ranked inside the Top 10: the Ole Miss Rebels and the Baylor Bears.

Ole Miss and Baylor have only met one time in team history, a 1975 match-up in Waco that saw Baylor win by 10 points.

Baylor, fresh off upsetting Oklahoma State for the Big 12 title, will face one of the most prolific teams from the SEC in Ole Miss. Led by Lane Kiffin and QB Matt Corral, Baylor will have their hands full trying to slow down the (likely) first quarterback taken in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Baylor’s Abram Smith has been one of the most prolific running backs in all of college football and Ole Miss will face an uphill battle trying to find ways to slow him down.

Ole Miss and Baylor square off Jan. 1 at 8:45 p.m. on ESPN.
