2. Dave Aranda

If there is a hotter head-coaching candidate available right now than Dave Aranda, you would be hard-presssed to find one.

Aranda isn’t actually available. He seems perfectly happy at Baylor, where he just won a Big 12 championship and was possibly one win away from reaching the College Football Playoff.

Of course, some will say Baylor isn’t a place to build an elite program. But, someone is going to rule the Big 12 after Texas and Oklahoma go to the SEC, so maybe it will be the Bears.

As far as Oregon is concerned, it has the chance to pitch the fact that its an elite program in a conference with 1-2 tops. Oregon has one real threat in the North Division (Washington) and outside of that, it’s a pretty easy path to a championship game.

Oregon football has been known for its offense over the years, but look at all the talented defenders drafted over the years. Take all the talent and a coach like Aranda and Oregon could definitely win a national championship.
