The best performances of the past 25 Heisman Trophy winners: 16. Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry is a very large human being, quite possibly the biggest man in the world. Alright, that’s a bit of a joke but still, he’s one of the most physically imposing players in college football history.

Standing at 6’3” and weighing over 240 pounds, tackling him was practically impossible. NFL players find that task mind-numbing, so how do you think college kids used to feel?

While a member of Alabama, there was nothing you could do to stop Henry, especially in 2015, his Heisman trophy winning season. Believe us when we say we aren’t making up these stats. Henry racked up 2,219 rushing yards and 28 scores. Even with opposing team’s knowing he was going to get the ball, he still ran all over them.

During a late-season game against long-time rival Auburn, Henry punished them. Head coach Nick Saban fed his Heisman winner the ball 46 times. As a result, Henry rushed for 271 yards. We suppose we can give Auburn credit for only allowing Henry to score only one touchdown. But still, he destroyed them on this night.
