The best performances of the past 25 Heisman Trophy winners: 22. Jason White

If you were expecting Jason White to tuck the ball and run it during his time at Oklahoma, you were going to be waiting a very long time. The former 2003 Heisman winner was never a big runner but in terms of simply gashing defenses with his arm, he was one of the best.

After leading Oklahoma to a 12-2 record, White was a no-brainer selection as the Heisman winner that season. Once his year came to an end, he racked up 3,846 passing yards, 40 touchdowns, and ten interceptions.

White’s best game that season came against lowly Iowa State. He easily completed 76.5% of his passes for 385 yards. To no one’s surprise, he racked up five touchdowns and zero interceptions. White’s overall year may have come to an end on a bit of a bad note as his Sooners lost the final two games of the year, but if we exclude those two mishaps, he had one of the best Heisman winning seasons and performances in recent memory.
