The best performances of the past 25 Heisman Trophy winners: 20. Matt Leinart

USC fans are truly hoping that Lincoln Riley restores some order around town.

Back in the early 2000s, USC was a powerhouse. And in 2005, quarterback Matt Leinart led them to an undefeated season. With a 13-0 record overall, that 2005 team should be considered one of the best in college football history.

Leinart had a great but not specular year when compared to his peers. He finished the season with 3,322 passing yards, 33 touchdowns, six interceptions, and completed 65.7% of his passes.

His best game of the year was by far the one-sided beatdown he dished out to Notre Dame. USC ended up winning the game by 31 points and Leinart threw for 400 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. He also completed 70.6% of his passes.
