Appalachian State is one of the best unranked teams in the country

At 10-3, App State boasts one of the best records of any unranked team in all of college football. The Mountaineers lost to then-ranked No. 22 Miami at Hard Rock Stadium by just two points early in the season.

The other two losses suffered by Appalachian State were both to Louisiana — once in the regular season and for the final time in the Sun Belt Conference championship game.

App State virtually dominated every team they beat, save for a one-point win over Marshall and a three-point win over then-ranked No. 14 Coastal Carolina.

The Mountaineers can’t wait to unleash their sixteenth-ranked defense (19.3 points per game allowed) on Zappe and the high-scoring WKU.

App State will use its balanced attack (25 passing touchdowns and 25 rushing touchdowns) to keep Western Kentucky on its feet.

Which unit will prevail: App State’s superb defense or Western Kentucky’s high-octane offense?
