7. Outback Bowl Trophy

The Outback Bowl will hand out a new trophy than the one pictured above for this year’s matchup between Penn State and Arkansas. It was revealed at the contract signing between the two teams.

The new trophy still keeps the boomerang theme. If the football is removable that will make it similar to other conference championship and bowl trophies.

In my opinion, though the all crystal version is better. Just gives it a classy look. Regardless of the boomerang theme, you know exactly what bowl it is and makes it unique.

Originally named the Hall of Fame Bowl from its inaugural game in 1986 through 1995, the Outback Bowl is a pretty solid New Year’s Day bowl game. Since its first year with Outback Steakhouse as its sponsor, the game has featured a matchup of Big Ten and SEC teams.

The game usually kicks off first on January 1st and is a good appetizer to bigger matchups later in the day. Speaking of appetizers, whichever conference team wins, Outback gives customers either a free Bloomin Onion or Coconut Shrimp appetizer the day after the game.
