17. Oregon

For years, Autzen Stadium has been known as having one of the best atmospheres in college football and among college football fanbases, Oregon was probably a little underappreciated.

But this season, despite having a stellar team, even though it fell short of winning the Pac-12 championship, the Ducks struggled to fill the seats at Autzen.

There was actually only one game — the Civil War against Oregon State — where the stadium was filled to capacity.  Eugene, Oregon isn’t a major city or anything and attendance is falling across the board in college football. It’s just not Oregon.

And the Ducks also have more of a regional/national fanbase. Their slick uniforms and exciting style of play over the years converted plenty of fans, so even if the stadium wasn’t sold out every Saturday, very few are and Oregon backers deserve their spot in the top 20.
