12. Cincinnati

Just like in the College Football Playoff rankings, Cincinnati finds itself ranked ahead of Notre Dame, and remember Irish fans, this is for 2021, not an all-time ranking.

If it was talking about the best college football fanbases ever, Notre Dame would have the edge. But in 2021, Cincinnati pushed itself into the upper echelon of fanbases.

The Bearcats weren’t even in the top 50 when Saturday Blitz put together the list for 2020, yet even though we have narrowed, the Bearcats still burst onto the scene.

And one major reason is the fan’s activity on social media. Cincinnati did sell out all of its home games except one this season and Nippert Stadium even hosted College Gameday in 2021, but the Bearcats, despite having a smaller following, have one of the most interactive social media followings in college football.

Cincinnati actually has the No. 2 engagement overall on Instagram which says something about the program’s work on social media, as well as the passion of its fanbase.
