1. Utah’s Running Game

Utah has one of the most physical running games in the country. The Utes have more than one back that is capable of carrying Utah on the ground and expect to see them all get plenty of work.

In their two losses to Oregon and Michigan, Ohio State has not been able to stop the run. Michigan overwhelmed the Buckeyes with their offensive line and running game. Oregon was able to be more physical with Ohio State and was able to win that game because of it.

There are not many teams in the country that are more physical than Utah. Guys like Tavion Thomas, TJ Pledger, and Micah Bernard all average over five yards per carry. Quarterback Cameron Rising has also contributed to the running game and kept defenses guessing.

If Utah football can limit the big plays from the Ohio State offense and control the tempo and game clock with their rushing attack, this will propel the Utes to their first-ever Rose Bowl win.
