3. Oklahoma rushing game puts out another strong performance

Kennedy Brooks said immediately after Oklahoma’s loss to Oklahoma State that he would not opt-out from this game.

His future agent may be glad that he didn’t, as Brooks finished the season about as strong as any RB in the 2022 draft class with his performance tonight.

Brooks had 10 carries for 127 yards and two touchdowns in the first half of this game. He would tack on another rushing touchdown and another 15 yards in the second half.

Brooks was able to display his patience and vision through each of his touchdown runs. Ultimately, he will finish the 2021 season with 1249 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns in total.

The Sooners ran for 316 yards as a team and had nine rushes that gained 10+ yards. This was the 6th game in which Oklahoma ran for 200 or more on the ground.

Eric Gray also carved out a really solid role backing up Brooks on the year. The transfer from Tennessee was able to touch the ball eight times for a total of 31 yards. Gray contributed throughout the year as a change of pace back and will have an opportunity to seize the starting role next season.

Add in the dual-threat ability of Caleb Williams, and we got to witness a rushing attack that ran wild in San Antonio.
