Orange Bowl 2021: 3 reasons to watch Georgia vs. Michigan
1. A coaching chess match will be on display in the Orange Bowl
John Harbaugh vs. Kirby Smart is going to be an extremely entertaining chess match to watch. These are two excellent strategists who have been in tons of big games over the years.
Entering the game, college football fans have been whispering if Smart has what it takes to get over the hump not just in the semi-final but to win it all.
Smart has yet to get over the hump and win it all in Athens. If he fails again, particularly in the semi-final, those whispers might start to become a full-blown shouting match.
The same can be said of Michigan’s Harbaugh. It seems like the guy has been on the hot seat for ages, but bought himself some more time with a huge win over Ohio State to put the Wolverines in a position to be in the College Football Playoffs.
Harbaugh got his team into the playoff for the first time ever. If he can get them a win or even two — he’ll be set for life.
These two coaches have a lot more than championship aspirations on the line in the Orange Bowl.
The Georgia Bulldogs and the Michigan Wolverines will square off Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The winner of this game will face the winner of Alabama vs. Cincinnati on Jan. 10 for the College Football National Championship.
