2. Can Oklahoma State make history with Fiesta Bowl win?

The Cowboys have a chance to do something that has only been done once in program history: achieve 12 wins in a single season.

Oklahoma State is sitting at 11 wins, something they’ve done a handful of times over the years, but winning a dozen has happened only once (2011) when the Gundy-led team finished 12-1 on the season and ranked No. 3 in the country.

The Cowboys will look to use their stifling defense (only 16.8 ppg allowed) to slow Notre Dame’s potent offense (35.2 ppg).

Gundy and the ‘boys have a blueprint to follow. Only Cincinnati was able to topple the Irish this season and they have one of the best defenses in college football.

Earning a win in this bowl game would give Gundy his eleventh bowl win in his career with OK State and an overall bowl game record of 11-5.
