3. Georgia and Alabama will be epic

Even though we just got his matchup a few weeks ago, this national championship game is going to be epic.

Georgia looks to be the most complete team in college football. The Bulldogs have a dominating defense, a stellar offensive line, a quarterback, and skill guys everywhere.

Of course, Alabama has all of those things too, as well as the current Heisman Trophy winner and a running back that just went over 200 yards in the Cotton Bowl in Brian Robinson Jr. The offensive line that has struggled is playing its best football and it couldn’t come at a better time.

The one matchup that worries me from a Georgia perspective is Bryce Young against Stetson Bennett. I know that’s not a head-to-head matchup, but if everything else is even, and for the most part it feels like it is, Young is the X-Factor and that was true in the SEC title game.

Bennett will have to be better but so will the defense and the running game as Georgia can’t be in third-and-long all game. It never was against Michigan, at least not while the game was in doubt and Bennett thrived.

Young was as cool as the other side of the pillow in the Cotton Bowl and if Georgia is going to win, it will need to rattle him as it rattled Michigan’s Cade McNamara.

Yet, after watching the way Georgia manhandled Michigan in the Orange Bowl, the Dawgs have the team to do it. But looks can be deceiving and the only thing that matters for Georgia is beating Alabama, otherwise, the 2021-22 season will be nothing but a failure for UGA.
