Antonio Doyle, LB/Edge Texas A&M

Not only did Nebraska football lose Martinez at quarterback and Samori Toure at wide receiver, but the Huskers also lost a number of key players on defense.

The good news, as far as wide receiver is concerned, is that Nebraska has already added some much-needed depth. But the defense could use some too, especially at linebacker/edge rusher.

And it just so happens that a former Nebraska football recruit who could fill that need has entered the transfer portal. Well, he actually has been in the portal since November but it’s former Texas A&M Aggie Antonio Doyle.

Doyle who is 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, was a top-100 recruit coming out of high school but only saw action in a few games and notched seven tackles for the Aggies last season. When looking at his profile, I couldn’t help but see JoJo Domann in him.

Domann was a linebacker/edge rusher and that’s exactly the role that Doyle could play. He’s kind of a tweener but he has the talent to make an immediate impact. Barrett Ruud recruited him before and Nebraska should make another push.

Doyle is from St. Louis and both Illinois and Missouri are expected to be among the favorites to land him, but he would fill a need, is from the Midwest, and has a previous relationship with the Huskers, so it could make a lot of sense.
