2. USC

When it comes to the blue-chip ratio, USC football was viewed as one of the 16 teams talented enough to contend for a national championship in 2021…but we all know how that worked out.

Yet, it might prove to be the best thing that happened to USC in the long run as Lincoln Riley took a huge amount of money to be the Trojans head coach. Caleb Williams followed Riley to Oklahoma, so who is to say he wouldn’t follow him to Los Angeles?

The Trojans have talent. Riley is an elite recruiter and is doing his best to salvage the 2022 recruiting class and already won the commitment of Domani Jackson, the top-ranked cornerback in 2022 over Nick Saban and Alabama. That’s just one example and other top-100 talents, such as C.J. Williams, a talented receiver, could follow.

Malachi Nelson also flipped his commitment from Oklahoma to USC, but he’s in the 2023 class and won’t be in the mix for a couple of seasons.

Williams could bridge the gap, help the Trojans become instant College Football Playoff contenders and also continue to get the tutelage he originally wanted under Riley.
