1. Tyre West

The highest-rated prospect to commit to Tennessee this fall was Tyre West and landing West was a big recruiting win for the Volunteers coaching staff.

Hailing from Tifton, Georgia, West is a 6-3/280 LBS interior linemen who is capable of controlling the line of scrimmage.

Tennessee struggled to stop the run this season and that can be attributed to a number of factors. One of those factors has to be that the talent level on the defensive line is below average. The addition of West and others can start to change that.

West already has the body type to make an impact at the next level. That is not to say that he is a perfect prospect that doesn’t need to grow, but he has less to do physically than others.

Versatility is not his strength like the other prospects, but West will fit in just fine along the interior and make an instant impact for Tennessee in 2022.
