5 Bold Predictions for Georgia vs Alabama in CFP National Championship
Georgia will beat Alabama
Picking against Alabama is like picking against Tom Brady. It’s probably not the wise move, however, these are bold predictions after all and it doesn’t get much bolder than picking against Alabama in the national title game.
Alabama has lost to Clemson twice on this stage and Georgia football should have beaten the Crimson Tide in 2017. Yet, from a UGA perspective, it’s easy to see how Alabama can feel invincible, especially after the debacle in the SEC title game.
But all season long, Georgia has looked and felt like the best team in college football. That was reinforced with the dominant Orange Bowl win over Michigan.
Alabama beat Cincinnati but not like the Dawgs buried the Wolverines. Georgia won’t be able to do that to Alabama but the Tide won’t do that to UGA either.
It feels like a push and that the tie should go to the team with the better head coach and the better quarterback. However, what if Georgia is just the better team?
Alabama made a lot of big plays the first time around, but it didn’t completely out-class the Bulldogs. If Georgia plays its best, it should win this game. The Dawgs just have to execute and they have to neutralize the one X-Factor: Bryce Young.
They will have some success with that, although Young will keep Alabama in it until the end, however, the Georgia defense, cements itself as one of the best ever in college football with a stellar showing in a national championship win over Alabama.
Final Score: Georgia 27, Alabama 24
