3. BYU

One school that makes a ton of sense for Dart is BYU because not only is Dart from the state of Utah, but the Cougars were also among his finalists during his recruitment.

BYU is at one disadvantage in the sense that the Cougars aren’t part of the Power-5 right now, but they are the most well-known college football team outside of Notre Dame that’s not part of a major conference and that will be ending with the move to the Big 12.

However, even as an independent, BYU has put together back-to-back top-15 finishes in the AP poll and sent Zach Wilson to the New York Jets with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft.

Dart would have to compete with Jaren Hall, who played well for the Cougars last season and threw 20 touchdowns while completing 64 percent of his passes in 10 games.

The Cougars definitely seem like they will be interested in pursuing Dart who will still have three seasons of eligibility if he wishes to use them. And he’s got the ability to be the next in the long line of talented BYU quarterbacks.

Jaxson Dart could also help the Cougars continue to win at a high level as they head into a new round of conference realignment.
