Notre Dame Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2022
This will be the second biggest test of the season for the Fighting Irish after facing Ohio State. Clemson had a bit of a down season in 2021, going 10-3, but could be primed for a big bounce-back season in 2022. The Tigers are going to have to replace both coordinators, as Brent Venables and Tony Elliott are both are now head coaches. Clemson has questions at the quarterback position and is going to need a much better offense to compete nationally this season.
These two teams have had some epic games of the years, namely in 2020 and 2015. It has become a nice series of games whenever these two get together and you should expect another classic in 2022. These two teams are evenly matched, but Clemson’s defense might be the country’s best and that is going to be the difference in this game.
Final Score: Notre Dame 21, Clemson 24 (7-2)
After a disappointing loss to Clemson, the Fighting Irish are going to need to stay focused and get a win over one of their main rivals. Navy has been down in recent years, but the triple option is always tough to defend and Navy could catch Notre Dame unfocused after a game vs Clemson.
Notre Dame should bounce back and win this game though. The defense will do a good enough job of stopping the run and creating turnovers to defeat the Midshipmen.
Final Score: Notre Dame 35, Navy 14 (8-2)
