Ohio State Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2022
After their big victory over Wisconsin, Ohio State will face off with a Big Ten East opponent in Rutgers. This is a game that has never been close since the Scarlett Knights came to the Big Ten and that should not change in 2022. That is not to say that Greg Schiano has not done a good job at making Rutgers a respectable program again.
Rutgers plays hard, but have not been able to get a signature victory over one of the Big Ten’s best teams. Ohio State will win this one rather comfortably.
Final Score: Ohio State 55, Rutgers 14 (5-0, 2-0)
In what was one of the most anticipated games in the Big Ten last season, Ohio State crushed Michigan State. The Buckeyes’ offense could not be stopped and it looked like they were well on their way to winning the Big Ten. The latter did not happen, but it was an impressive showing nonetheless.
Michigan State is going to be losing running back Kenneth Walker III, but return some of their biggest playmakers at receiver. Mel Tucker is building something special in East Lansing, but the Spartans are not going to have the defense to hang around with Ohio State.
Final Score: Ohio State 42, Michigan State 21 (6-0, 3-0)
