South Carolina Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2022
After getting a big win over Kentucky, South Carolina is going to have their bye week and an extra week to prepare for one of the SEC’s most talented teams. Texas A&M is going to come into the season as a top ten team at a minimum and are bringing in the highest-rated recruiting class ever. There is optimism in College Station that head coach Jimbo Fisher finally is ready to break through and win the SEC West.
Like the Georgia game earlier in the season, this could be a popular upset pick by some because the game is in Columbia. South Carolina is just going to be at a serious talent disadvantage and it showed in last season’s matchup between these two schools. The Aggies come to Columbia and get a big win.
Final Score: South Carolina 20, Texas A&M 41 (4-3, 1-3)
South Carolina is going to need a bounce-back game after once again being humbled by Texas A&M. This is the perfect spot for a homecoming game against an SEC East opponent and a game that will be critical for the team’s bowl hopes. Missouri is going to come to Columbia and hope to steal a win over South Carolina. Like the Gamecocks, Missouri is looking to show progress and make it back to a bowl game.
The Tigers brought in a top 12 recruiting class and are hoping the new level of talent means more wins. They are losing some impact players like running back Tyler Badie and the Tigers defense was one of the SEC’s worst in 2021. South Carolina will defend home field against Missouri and get a win.
Final Score: South Carolina 34, Missouri 31 (5-3, 2-3)
