887. Pick Analysis. Nashville, Tenn.. player. Scouting Report. Nov. 5. Vanderbilt Commodores. 9

South Carolina is going to have a perfect chance to land back-to-back victories when they head to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt. The Commodores were the worst team in the SEC last season and it wasn’t that close. However, it must be noted that Vanderbilt almost pulled off a big upset over South Carolina in Columbia last season. The Gamecocks needed some late-game heroics to avoid an embarrassing loss at home.

Something tells me that the game this season won’t be as close. Vanderbilt is still lacking talent and is in year two of their rebuild under Clark Lea. South Carolina will be able to go on the road and win more comfortably than they did against the Commodores a year ago and get to bowl eligibility.

Final Score: South Carolina 48, Vanderbilt 17 (6-3, 3-3)

10. player. 840. Pick Analysis. Nov. 12. Florida Gators. Scouting Report. Gainesville, Fla.

A year ago, Beamer and the Gamecocks got what was perhaps the signature win of his first season when they upset Florida at home. The game a year ago was one of the downfalls of former coach Dan Mullen and that is why he is no longer there and Billy Napier is leading the Gators program now. Napier is a highly respected coach and many think he is the right coach to lead the program back to the top of the SEC.

It is still going to be an interesting first year for Napier in Gainesville. Florida might not have the talent to be able to beat Georgia and win the SEC East, but they can still finish in second and have a solid first season. Florida will be a solid team as the year goes on and will take care of South Carolina at home.

Final Score: South Carolina 27, Florida 42 (6-4, 3-4)
