Tennessee Football: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions for 2022
After getting a big victory on the road against the defending ACC champions, Tennessee will get another date at home with a team from the MAC. This time it will be from Akron and they will be led by new head coach Joe Moorhead. Moorhead was a well-respected offensive coordinator while at Penn State and Oregon and it was a surprise to see him take one of the toughest jobs at the FBS level.
While Moorhead might get things going in Akron at some point, 2022 is going to be a rough season. Tennessee is going to win this by any margin they choose.
Final Score: Tennessee 58, Akron 10 (3-0)
This is going to be a big opportunity for Tennessee to make a statement. They have struggled to beat Florida in any given year and this would be a massive opportunity to take charge early in the season. Florida is going to be led by new head coach Billy Napier and the Gators are going to look different from what they did last season.
The big question for the Gators is who is going to start at quarterback? Anthony Richardson and Emory Jones are still there, but Ohio State transfer Jack Miller could contend for the job. Florida will be a better team by season’s end but could have some early-season struggles. Tennessee gets a big home victory.
Final Score: Tennessee 41, Florida 31 (4-0, 1-0 SEC)
