3 reasons 5-star QB Caleb Williams will choose Wisconsin Football
Wisconsin is QB friendly
You might be wondering why Williams wouldn’t want to go to USC or Georgia or even LSU? And those are all fair questions.
The Bulldogs are bringing back Stetson Bennett and while I think LSU would be a great fit for Williams, Wisconsin offers some unique things such as a QB-friendly environment.
Wisconsin football has never relied on the quarterback to win games. The Badgers have always been about running the football, dominant offensive line play, and really solid defense. That was the formula last season and it led to a 9-4 campaign.
If it wasn’t for an upset in the final week of the regular season to Minnesota, Wisconsin would have been playing for the Big Ten championship and who knows, had Caleb Williams been the starter last season when he had the fourth-highest QBR in all of college football, Wisconsin could have easily won 11-12 games and possibly the Big Ten title.
Williams won’t have to shoulder the load at Wisconsin. The Badgers have a dominant running game and a freshman in Braelon Allen who just went over 1,200 yards. He’s also said to like the idea of playing behind Wisconsin’s massive O-line and who wouldn’t?
Of course, this will all get serious once Caleb Williams actually visits campus and if he doesn’t choose the Trojans on Friday.
But as of now, Wisconsin football fans have reason to be cautiously optimistic and that’s more than anyone expected when Williams entered the portal earlier this month.
