Kentucky Football: Way-Too-Early Game-by-Game Predictions
By Kathryn Rose
Kentucky’s 2022 schedule starts off with a MAC opponent in Lexington, with Miami of Ohio coming in on September 3rd. The RedHawks went 7-6 last year and are led by Brett Gabbert at quarterback. Gabbert’s very good and is probably the MAC’s best returning passer, but Kentucky should win without much trouble.
Final score: Kentucky 31, Miami (OH) 10
The challenge ramps up substantially though, as the Wildcats head down to Gainesville to take on Florida on September 10th. Kentucky bested Florida in a 20-13 affair last October in Lexington, but that was before Florida’s full-blown collapse under Dan Mullen started, so it was still a good win. Because of said Mullen meltdown, the Gators brought in Billy Napier from Sun Belt champion Louisiana. However, the Gators may still be trying to find their identity in this game under a first-year head coach.
Final score: Kentucky 17, Florida 14 (Kentucky goes to 2-0, 1-0 in conference play)
