Kentucky Football: Way-Too-Early Game-by-Game Predictions
By Kathryn Rose
The SEC slate comes to a close when defending national champion Georgia pays a visit to Kroger Field. Georgia will have lost a ton of players to the NFL draft, including linebackers Nakobe Dean and Channing Tindall, big nose tackle Jordan Davis, and defensive back Louis Cine, as well as speedy running back James Cook. Despite all the losses for the Dawgs though, they’ll still have by far the most talent on the field out of these two squads, and Georgia should cruise to a comfortable win.
Final Score: Georgia 27, Kentucky 17 (Kentucky goes to 8-3, 5-3 in conference)
Closing out the year is in-state rival Louisville. The Cards were extremely inconsistent in 2021, finishing 6-7 with a defense that was 85th in FBS in yards per play allowed. However, there’s hope, as explosive quarterback Malik Cunningham is back for another season. Last year, this matchup was a 52-21 Kentucky drubbing in Louisville. It won’t be quite that bad this year, but Kentucky will keep the Governor’s Cup.
Final score: Kentucky 38, Louisville 27 (Kentucky finishes 9-3, 5-3 in conference)
