2022 NFL Draft: 5 outstanding performances from the NFLPA Bowl
By Dante Pryor
Aqeel Glass, quarterback: Alabama A&M
One purpose for all-star games like these is so tiny school players can have the opportunity to show they can compete and play well against players from more prominent programs. This situation was the case with Alabama A&M quarterback Aqeel Glass.
Glass’ is one of the most prolific passers in HBCU history, throwing for over 10,000 yards and 100 touchdowns during his Alabama A&M career. The St. Louis native had nine completions for 141 yards and a touchdown during the game.
Two aspects of his performance stood out. Glass had two incompletions and no interceptions. While at A&M, Glass did have some issues with accuracy, ball placement, and throwing to the wrong jersey at times.
No of those issues cropped up during the game. Glass did not miss and put the football where it needed to be. There were not many throws behind receivers or in a place where a receiver needed to adjust. Glass showed tremendous pocket presence and command of the offense, leading them on a late drive to take the lead.
Aqeel Glass has all the measurables scouts crave in a quarterback. Glass measured in at 6-foot-3 and 233 pounds. He has an NFL-level arm and can make any throw you ask of him. A team looking to develop a quarterback should consider drafting Glass or signing him as a priority free agent.
