#2: Steve Sarkisian, Texas

I have no clue as to who all still needs to hear this, but here it goes: the Texas Longhorns are a total dumpster fire right now, and they will not leave a true mark on the college football landscape until further notice.

But while such a statement may sound obvious to some, the Longhorns are still finding ways to sneak into way-too-early top 25 rankings. What other teams could do so having just come off of a 5-7 season?

Yes, Sarkisian is still wet behind the ears when it comes to being a head coach, but it doesn’t matter where he’s from or how big Texas’s brand is, the Longhorns won’t be doing jack anytime soon, especially with their welcoming party from the SEC being on the horizon.

#1: Mel Tucker, Michigan State

This one may be a bit of a curveball, as the Michigan State Spartans were the strongest of the powers mentioned on this list last season. However, while Mel Tucker isn’t a bad coach by any stretch of the imagination, his ability to survive the weight of his conference is where the questionability kicks in.

This Fall, the Spartans are set to face the Washington Huskies in Seattle before opening league play with Minnesota. Not only that, but later on they will be hosting both Ohio State and Wisconsin before visiting Michigan. Oh, and they will also finish their regular-season slate with Penn State in Happy Valley.

The idea of a man who has still yet to prove that he can win on a consistent basis pulling off something big with a schedule like that is quite difficult to take seriously.
