USC Football: Way-too-Early Game-by-Game Predictions for 2022
USC will begin the month of October by playing one of its division rivals in the PAC-12 South, the Arizona State Sun Devils. Arizona State has been tough in the division ever since Herm Edwards took over the program, but that might be about to change. Arizona State has committed several recruiting violations and lost valuable members of its coaching staff because of them.
Edwards is not in trouble yet, but it might only be an amount of time before it’s time to hit the reset button in Tempe. Quarterback Jayden Daniels does return, but there is not much optimism with the Sun Devils program right now. That will lead to a USC blowout win.
Final Score: USC 48, Arizona State 21 (5-0, 3-0)
For the second straight week, USC will get the opportunity to play at home against a PAC-12 opponent. This week, it will be against the Washington State Cougars, one of the few teams USC managed to beat last season. The Cougars were a team in constant upheaval last season and it was a miracle they managed to make a bowl game with all of the distractions they had.
Washington State is going to have one of the most anticipated transfers in Incarnate Word transfer quarterback Cameron Ward. Ward was highly sought after in the transfer portal this offseason and decided to head to Pullman to play for the Cougars. The Cougars will be an exciting team to watch, but they won’t have the defense to hang around with USC.
Final Score: USC 44, Washington State 27 (6-0, 4-0)
