USC Football: Way-too-Early Game-by-Game Predictions for 2022
This is going to be a two-week stretch that USC fans will be looking forward to. They will be facing their two biggest rivals in back-to-back weeks and getting a chance to avenge two embarrassing losses of the 2021 season. First up, is a trip to the Rose Bowl to take on UCLA. The Bruins scored over 60 points against the Trojans last fall and USC has assuredly not forgotten about that game.
UCLA had their best season yet under head coach Chip Kelly and that resulted in him getting a contract extension after the season. The Bruins tried to bring in new quarterbacks, like Williams and former UCF quarterback Dillon Gabriel but failed to do so. UCLA lost some talent to the NFL and they may have a down year because of it. USC will get revenge in this game.
Final Score: USC 38, UCLA 20 (10-1, 8-1)
This is a game that could have huge implications. Notre Dame is going to be ranked in the top 10 heading into the season and will be led under new head coach Marcus Freeman. Freeman is looking to take Notre Dame further than they have been recently and is already making recruiting a top priority at Notre Dame.
USC has not beaten the Fighting Irish since 2016. Notre Dame has been the more disciplined team than the Trojans, but it won’t be so easy for Notre Dame for much longer. Look for this to be a high-scoring game, but Notre Dame’s experience and depth along the offensive and defensive lines to be the difference in this one. The Fighting Irish will win and keep USC from making a playoff push.
Final Score: USC 38, Notre Dame 42 (10-2, 8-1)
