Miami Football: Way-too-early 2022 game-by-game predictions
This is going to be quite the late-season game in the ACC. Miami and Clemson could be a preview of the ACC Championship game and it will be interesting to see who holds the upper hand this late in the season. Clemson has gotten the better of Miami in recent meetings and the Hurricanes are hoping to prove they are the class of the ACC and not the Tigers.
Clemson is going to have some questions to answer heading into the season. There is plenty of talent for the team to win the ACC and compete for a playoff spot. However, quarterback play was inconsistent and the Tigers are losing both coordinators to other jobs.
It is a new-look coaching staff and there can be some growing pains associated with that. Clemson’s defense remains elite and the home-field advantage will be enough to propel the Tigers to a huge win.
Final Score: Miami 28, Clemson 31 (9-2, 6-1)
After a tough loss to Clemson, Miami is going to need to rebound and get ready to close the season out against the defending ACC champs. Pitt is going to be losing Heisman Trophy finalist Kenny Pickett, but there is still plenty of talent on the team to repeat in the Coastal division. Miami pulled a big upset against the Panthers last fall and head coach Pat Narduzzi has not forgotten about it.
The Panthers are replacing Pickett with former USC starter Kedon Slovis. Slovis had some good moments in Los Angeles, but could never get consistent and stayed injured. He is going to be throwing to one of the best receivers in the country in Jordan Addison and the Panthers defense is going to be stingy as always.
Pitt will get slept on in the preseason, but they could repeat as division champions. They will find a way to upset Miami on the road to end the season.
Final Score: Miami 31, Pitt 34 (9-3, 6-2)
