Mark Stoops’ Wildcats don’t look anything like historically familiar Kentucky football teams. Gone is a year or two of success followed by a hard crash into the two or three win mark. After their 10-win team last year, the Cats are still a strong team for the most part but have lost quite a few pieces on the offensive line, as well as explosive receiver Wan’Dale Robinson.

There are some pieces back on defense, but even then, star defensive lineman Josh Paschal has departed as well. Ole Miss tires Kentucky out for the win.

Final score: Ole Miss 38, Kentucky 20 (5-0, 1-0 SEC)

Conference minnow Vanderbilt is the next Rebel clash before the schedule difficulty really starts to crank up. The Commodores have quite a lot back from last year’s squad but they finished 2-10, so that’s not saying much.

Re’Mahn Davis might break off a couple of nice runs for Vanderbilt, but there is no passing game to speak of. Ole Miss turns Vandy into a paste in this game.

Final score: Ole Miss 59, Vanderbilt 10 (6-0, 2-0)
