Pitt’s journeys into various MAC stadiums are a quirky little feature of their schedule sometimes, but they should be thankful they’re getting this Western Michigan team instead of last year’s. Dynamic quarterback Kaleb Eleby and turbo-fast receiver Skyy Moore are gone, and the Broncos are breaking in a new offensive coordinator this year.

Western Michigan will probably throw it more with their new scheme, and with their defense still being in the pits, the Panthers are gonna put up some eye-popping numbers in this game.

Final score: Pitt 52, Western Michigan 6 (Pitt: 3-0)

Rhode Island rides into town for the final non-conference matchup for Pitt before the ACC slate starts. The Rams went 7-4 last year, with the highlight being a win over a 9th ranked Delaware team, as well as beating in-state rival Brown to become state champs.

This is a solid FCS team that Pitt is playing, but it’s a cakewalk for the Panthers. Pitt wins this one without a second thought.

Final score: Pitt 45, Rhode Island 7 (Pitt: 4-0)
