Coming off a bye week, Pitt gets a sneaky good Louisville team up next. Malik Cunningham – and his cardiac quarterback style – is back. First-team All-ACC offensive guard Caleb Chandler is here, as well as second-team all-ACC performers in linebacker Yasir Abdullah and safety Kenderick Duncan.

The Cards have even added a few transfers to round the team out. Portal gets in running back Tiyon Evans and receiver Tyler Hudson are sure to be contributors this year as well.

All these Cardinal pieces result in a loss for Pitt.

Final score: Louisville 34, Pitt 30 (Pitt, 6-1, 2-1 in ACC)

A second straight conference road game awaits, as the Panthers go to Chapel Hill.

North Carolina’s obvious problem is the loss of Sam Howell at quarterback, but gone too is all-ACC running back Ty Chandler, as well as big-time sack man Tomon Fox at linebacker. Thankfully, first-team all-ACC receiver Josh Downs comes back, as does their leading tackler in Cedric Gray.

And yes, Storm Duck is back too.

North Carolina has enough to put a scare into Pitt, but the Panthers will simply outlast the Tar Heels.

Final score: Pitt 30, North Carolina 24 (Pitt 7-1, 3-1 in ACC)
