Purdue Boilermakers. player. Pick Analysis. Sept 3. Scouting Report. West Lafayette, IN. 1. 848

For the season opener, Penn State will go on the road to take on a Purdue program that has been tough to beat in recent years. The Boilermakers are going to be missing their best offensive player and best defensive player from last year with the departures of wide receiver David Bell and defensive end George Karlaftis. Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm seems to always churn out good offenses, but Bell is going to be a hard guy to replace.

Despite the game being on the road, Penn State will be able to get a conference win to start the season. They will have more talent than Purdue and will be able to make enough stops on defense to get the job done.

Final Score: Penn State 35, Purdue 20 (1-0, 1-0 Big Ten)

Sept 10. University Park, PA. Ohio Bobcats. 2. player. 2247. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

After winning their season and conference opener, Penn State will go home to face what was once one of the top programs in the MAC. The Bobcats struggled mightily last season, especially on the defensive side of the ball, and are hoping for a bounce-back season.

While Ohio might not be as bad as they were last season, they are not going to have a realistic shot at winning this game. Look for the Nittany Lions to get ahead early and coast the rest of the afternoon.

Final Score: Penn State 48, Ohio 14 (2-0, 1-0)
