Penn State Football: Way-too-Early Game-by-Game Predictions for 2022
After a tough loss on the road, Penn State will have to come back home to play a tough Minnesota team at home. The Golden Gophers are going to be contenders in the Big Ten West and are being slept on heading into the offseason. Minnesota almost won the division last season and has an opportunity to finally get to Indianapolis in 2022.
The Golden Gophers will be welcoming back running back Mohamed Ibrahim and quarterback Tanner Morgan to the team. There will be some losses on defense, but this team does a good job of developing talent. Coming off of a tough loss to Michigan and a big game against Ohio State looming, Penn State will find a way to lose the game to Minnesota.
Final Score: Penn State 31, Minnesota 34 (5-2, 2-2)
This has been one of the best games in the Big Ten for some time, but Penn State has not actually beaten Ohio State since upsetting them in 2016. The Buckeyes are one of the premier teams in college football and are one of the favorites to win the national championship in 2022. The offense is going to be unstoppable and there are multiple Heisman Trophy contenders on this team.
The good thing for Penn State is that this game is at home and it might be a white-out game. That will make it tough on the Buckeyes to win. However, there is just too much talent and firepower on Ohio State for an upset here.
Final Score: Penn State 24, Ohio State 35 (5-3, 2-3)
