Penn State Football: Way-too-Early Game-by-Game Predictions for 2022
For the last road game of the season, Penn State will head to the state of New Jersey to face Rutgers. Head coach Greg Schiano has rebuilt this Rutgers program to compete and the first two seasons have gone well since Schiano has returned to Piscataway. However, this team is still building and developing talent. They overachieved in 2020 and came back down to Earth a bit in 2021.
Penn State is going to hope to get their third win in a row at this point in the season. The Nittany Lions will go on the road and get a win over their division rival.
Final Score: Penn State 34, Rutgers 16 (8-3, 5-3)
The game between Michigan State and Penn State has turned into one of the most entertaining games in the Big Ten every year. Michigan State was able to beat the Nittany Lions in the snow last season and is hoping to follow up their double-digit win season with another one in 2022. The Spartans are losing running back Kenneth Walker III at running back and he is going to be tough to replace.
Spartans head coach Mel Tucker has mined the transfer portal again and is hoping to find some impact contributors. Michigan State is going to be a good team in 2022, but Penn State will find a way to beat the Spartans at home.
Final Score: Penn State 28, Michigan State 23 (9-3, 6-3)
