Tight End

Starter: Mitch Rossi
Backup: Joe Royer

This is going to be one of the position battles to keep an eye on during spring football. Jeremy Ruckert was one of the best tight ends in the country the past couple of seasons but is now off to the NFL. That is going to leave an opening at a position that Ohio State has not featured much in their offense under Ryan Day.

The first guy that will get a crack at it will be former walk-on fullback Mitch Rossi. Rossi has made some plays when at tight end and has experience. But he is not the only guy that is going to be fighting for that starting spot.

Joe Royer is a guy the coaching staff seems to believe in and should be in the thick of things. Other names to know for this position include Gee Scott Jr and Sam Hart.
