SEC Football: Newcomers who’ll have biggest impacts in 2022
By Dante Pryor
4. LSU: Miles Frazier, OT
Florida International transfer Miles Frazier fills a much-needed hole on an offensive line that loses four seniors. Incoming freshman quarterback Walker Howard fits here as well, but Frazier is responsible for keeping him upright if he is the starting quarterback.
Frazier is one of a handful of five players who weren’t highly recruited coming out of high school but filled out and developed at a smaller school. Frazier is a rock-solid tackle who is reliable both as a run blocker and pass protection. Linemen are in short supply, and LSU got one of the best from the portal.
3. Georgia: Malaki Starks, ATH
When it comes to figuring out which player will have an impact for the defending National Champions next season, pick a five-star. Malaki Starks has the potential to make an immediate splash for the Bulldogs next season. The only question is where.
Starks played and excelled all over the field for Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Georgia. Projections have him playing either linebacker or safety at Georgia, but he is a playmaker with the ball in his hand. Starks is an explosive athlete in space but also a physical sure tackler.
Where ever he plays, he’ll be an All-American.
