Game 1: at Hawaii (L)

Vanderbilt begins its 2022 college football trek with a visit to Hawaii to face off against the Rainbow Warriors. But despite how interesting of a matchup this one may look like, its winner should be rather obvious.

Remember, Vanderbilt was one of college football’s worst last season. Meanwhile, Hawaii was a bowl team that finished its year with a pair of league wins. Not to mention that Hawaii is not the easiest place to play. So don’t expect a blowout here, but Vandy almost certainly isn’t coming out of this one on top.

Game 2: vs. Elon (W)

Sure, the Commodores may have a nasty habit of sucking, but they won’t stoop so low as to blow this one.

The Elon Phoenix haven’t had a win count higher than six since 2017, and that is despite playing predominantly tiny opponents. This game will be in Nashville, and Vandy will want to silence those already laughing at them. Expect a Commodores win by over 30 points here.

Game 3: vs. Wake Forest (L)

Vanderbilt has a rivalry with the Demon Deacons from back in the day, and the former currently leads it. However, you won’t know it from the result of this upcoming battle.

In sharp contrast to Vandy, Wake Forest was an absolute monster last year, going 11-3 and ripping off what was arguably their greatest season ever. If the Deacs can do that, they can beat Vandy (probably by around three or four scores).
