Secondary

Starting Cornerbacks: Cam Hart and Clarence Lewis

Backups: Ryan Barnes and Phillip Riley

Starting Safeties: Brandon Joseph and Houston Griffith

Backups: Xavier Watts and Ramon Henderson

There is going to be plenty of experience in this starting secondary for Notre Dame, but depth could wind up being a concern. The Fighting Irish are going to return their top two corners in Cam Hart and Clarence Lewis, but they are going to have inexperience behind them.

One of the biggest transfers this offseason was Northwestern safety Brandon Joseph. Joseph was an All-American in 2020 but did not reach that same level last season.

He is a potential first-round talent and a difference-maker in the secondary for Notre Dame and should make an instant impact. The other safety spot is going to be a competition, but look for Houston Griffith to get the first crack at it.
