Clemson Football: 2022 Way-Too-Early Game Predictions
By Kathryn Rose
Clemson gets a pretty easy Monday night showcase game to start the year, facing Georgia Tech in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Nothing healthy is happening right now at Georgia Tech. Nearly every contributor that would be considered good from last year’s team has left, and what remains is a hollowed-out log of a program. Jahmyr Gibbs had 1,200+ scrimmage yards, and off he went to Bama. All-ACC linebacker Quez Jackson is off to the NFL, as is safety Juanyeh Thomas.
It’s hard to see how this game goes Georgia Tech’s way.
Final score: Clemson 34, Georgia Tech 9 (Clemson goes to 1-0, 1-0 in ACC)
While playing a game on five days rest is usually a nightmare, Clemson has an easy cupcake, with in-state rival Furman dragging into town. The Paladins were rarely out of any game they played last season, with three out of their five losses coming by 10 points or less. But, against NC State, Furman was crushed 45-7.
Clemson in a rout. This is a great game to see what they have down the depth chart.
Final score: Clemson 55, Furman 7 (Clemson 2-0, 1-0 in ACC)
