Clemson Football: 2022 Way-Too-Early Game Predictions
By Kathryn Rose
Mario Cristobal may have a fine team in his first year as ‘Canes head coach.
Certainly, losing All-ACC wideout Charleston Rambo is going to hurt. So too is losing defensive end Zach McCloud and his 5.5 sacks from a year ago. Yet, aside from those two, most of the major contributors are back.
Tyler Van Dyke looks to be a pretty talented quarterback for Miami. He’s also got a back with promise in Jaylon Knighton to hand off to, and a second-team All-ACC guard in DJ Scaife protecting both of them.
Miami is going to be tough, but the Hurricanes aren’t ready to beat Clemson in Death Valley this season.
Final score: Clemson 31, Miami 21 (Clemson 9-2, 7-1 in ACC)
An interesting Palmetto Bowl awaits the Tigres in their last game of the year.
South Carolina’s made news by bringing in Spencer Rattler at quarterback, as well as a few other talent-boosting transfers. However, losing edge rusher Kingsley Enagbare to the NFL is huge, as is losing first-team All-SEC safety Jaylan Foster as well.
Clemson will score their eighth straight win over the Gamecocks.
Final score: Clemson 37, South Carolina 17 (Clemson finishes 10-2, 7-1 in ACC)
