Boise State football: Way-too-early game-by-game 2022 predictions
By Kathryn Rose
Wyoming’s problem is going to be that their offense has been hit hard by departures. Both quarterbacks have transferred out, tailback Xazavian Valliday has gone to Arizona State, and the explosive Isiah Neyor is off to Texas. At least tailback Titus Swen stays in Laramie.
Defensively, linebacker Chad Muma is a sleeper top-end pick in this year’s NFL draft, and corner Azizi Hearn is off to UCLA. However, most of the major contributors have stuck around on this end of the ball.
Boise State should win this game.
Final score: Boise State 31, Wyoming 17 (8-3, 5-2)
Defending Mountain West champ Utah State ends up being the senior day draw for Boise State.
Blake Anderson’s filled his roster with transfers in 2021, and some of those guys are returning for this year too. Quarterback Logan Bonner threw for 36 touchdowns, and Calvin Tyler Jr. was an 884-yard rusher; both are back.
From there, problems mount. All three top receivers have left, and top defensive players Justin Rice and Nick Heninger are out as well.
Boise State gets a last-second win.
Final score: Boise State 27, Utah State 24 (9-3, 6-2)
