7. Wisconsin Badgers

Though the Badgers are a long shot to sign Jayden Daniels, head coach Paul Chryst knows there is a significant risk going into the season with Graham Mertz as starting quarterback. The Badgers did find their marquee running back in Braelon Allen.

Despite throwing ten interceptions last season, Daniels has a reputation for taking care of the football with an ability to throw the ball deep down the field. Two things the Badgers would like to add to their offense.

6. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

It was somewhat surprising the Irish were not more aggressive in the transfer portal. Head coach Marcus Freeman and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees might like the potential of Tyler Buchner, but the sophomore has not played a lot of football.

Buchner lost two high school football seasons, one to an ACL injury and another to COVID-19. Daniels would be an upgrade over both Buchner and Chris Pyne, but it seems unlikely the Irish would go after a quarterback at this point.

5. Arizona Wildcats

The Wildcats did sign Washington State transfer Jayden de Laura in the Portal, but Daniels is an upgrade over him who has had issues staying on the field. Would Jedd Fisch and the Wildcats add another transfer quarterback?

Though it is not outside the realm of possibility, the Wildcats are more likely to stick with de Laura. Also, does Daniels want to go to a program amid a rebuild?
