Haynes King

Haynes King is the quarterback with the most experience at Texas A&M and is the only one in the competition that has taken in-game snaps with the Aggies.

In two seasons at Texas A&M, King still has not seen any meaningful playing time with the Aggies. So far, King has attempted 39 passes in his collegiate career, completing 24 of them for three touchdowns and three interceptions.

Out of high school, King was a part of the Aggies’ 2020 recruiting class and was rated by 247Sports as a four-star prospect. 247Sports also rated King as the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in his class and No. 19 prospect in the state of Texas, all very high honors to receive from a very credible outlet.

Even though King has two years of experience, most would consider him the least likely to get the starting nod in 2022 and could potentially become a transfer portal target for another large school.

Though Max Johnson seems to be the front-runner in Texas A&M’s quarterback battle, all three quarterbacks competing for the top spot could have a shot at being the Aggies’ QB1. With the amount of talent that Texas A&M is bringing in, there could be many position battle surprises in College Station shortly. Regardless of who gets the starting nod in September, the Aggies have a lot of options, and TAMU could be gearing up for a special season.
